What the experts are saying...

2008 Mirror Cabernet Sauvignon

"2008 Mirror Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon- Deep ruby purple color and slightly opaque with aromas of black currant, chocolate, spice, tobacco, cedar and hint of eucalyptus. On the palate it is full-bodied with fine dense tannins, chocolaty texture and rich fruit concentration that lover’s of rich Napa Cab will surely like. Despite its intensity it is balanced with a warm finish. A wine that clearly shows ambition and should be interesting to see how it ages in the next 5-8 years."

2010 Mirror Sauvignon Blanc

"2010 Sauvignon Blanc:  Pale straw color with slight green reflections with aromas of citrus, fresh fig, and melon with soft white floral notes. On the palate it is round and medium-bodied with moderate acidity and warm alcohol.  Drink young for its youthful vibrancy.  The flavor intensity for this wine was on the delicate side though I suspect this is from a cool growing season with some heat spikes in the end as 2010 was."

2008 Mirror Cabernet Sauvignon

"The 2008 Mirror Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep dark ruby red with aromas of ripe cassis and black currants, nuanced with dark chocolate, roasted herbs and vanilla. The wine has a broad palate with strong, yet refined persistence - ripe tannins encapsulate a velvety richness where dark fruits abound upon entry with hints of cedar and baking spices before a juicy chocolate-cherry finish."

As for the Mirror Wine Company, I think both the Cabernet and the Sauvignon Blanc are excellent. I’m definitely a fan of Rob Lawson’s winemaking.

2006 Mirror Cabernet Sauvignon

"Cabernet: full bodied, quite toasty in character, with medium rich fruitiness, evident new oak character, and a long, mildly tannic finish. It tastes of vanilla, chocolate, black currant, cassis, and spicy oak. Excellent value. 4.5 out of 5 stars"

2008 Mirror Cabernet Sauvignon

"Ripe cassis and black fruit and spice, with chocolate and slightly floral notes on nose.
beautiful ripe juicy blackberry and layers of complexity unfold and coat the palate with a long finish with good berry flavor. Smooth ripe tannin, well rounded and velvety, judicious use of oak creates great equilibrium and harmony. Well made wine that will please many!"

2010 Mirror Sauvignon Blanc

"Clean, fresh tangerine and white peach skin, fresh cut herbs and a tropical note on nose.
Fresh and pure fruit, this California style Sauvignon Blanc with medium plus body offers ripe and sweet fruit and bracing acidity - citrusy and clean on the finish. ...Please someone get me an oyster on the half shell - quick!"

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

"The current release 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon isn't a gigantic blockbuster tannic monster.  The wine is gorgeous, and round, chock full of fruit and comforting like roast chicken and potatoes on a rainy Sunday night.  Easily worth the money and deserving to be on the shelf or the wine list where it would blow away old school stalwart Napa dinosaurs we tend to see everywhere."
