From the famed Stagecoach Vineyard on the shoulders of Atlas Peak, growing high-altitude fruit, with steady diurnal shifts and even ripening above the Valley’s fog line. Small clusters hand-harvested before dawn are optically-sorted before traditional fermentation, with extended maceration on the skins. Aged in 70% new French oak barrels for 29 months, with native malolactic fermentation completed by its first spring.
WINEMAKER AND PHILOSOPHY
Kirk Venge follows his father's creed, "making wine in the vineyard," and his grandfather's footsteps, on the Napa Valley soils where he was born and raised. Deep roots and decades’ experience have affirmed his approach from bud-break to barrel, from berry to bottle: “We garden our grapes.” An authentic taste of terroir…born in the vineyard, and raised in your glass.
